About me…

I am a mother of 3 wonderful children; 2 grown up and living their own exciting lives and one teenager at home with me.  
 
Exercise has always been important as I discovered at an early age that when I felt strong in my body, I felt strong and positive in my mind as well.  Over the years my mind-body connection has strengthened leading me to empower others through teaching yoga.

Classes…

…focus on functional movement, where poses (asana) are connected, helping us with everyday movement, rather than simply making aesthetically pleasing shapes.  Our bodies are a source of amazing wisdom; a truth that is being reinforced by new medical discoveries and anatomical research.  If we learn to listen to our body, we often know what is best for it.  However, with so much noise and conflicting theories competing in the media, we often doubt ourselves and fail to take the time to be still and allow ourselves to be led by our intuition.

My classes provide you with the space to listen to your own body so that you can challenge it safely and move in the way that feels best to you.  Each body is unique, so accepting yours as it is right now, without judgement is what matters; celebrating all you can do and not focusing on what you can’t.

Having attended classes with Liz at Your Space Yoga for over a year I would highly recommend them. Liz has a calming, relaxed style explaining the moves simply and clearly which is essential for a novice like me. The classes have different themes each week which keeps them interesting and combine elements of mindfulness which I also find helpful. Your Space Yoga removes the need to travel, I don’t feel self conscious about what I’m wearing and there is no feeling of not being as good as the others – it’s just what I needed to get me doing yoga – I really look forward to my sessions.
