About me

I am a mother to three wonderful children, two grown up and living their own exciting lives and one amazing teenager happily at home with me.

I have always enjoyed exercise, starting with a passion for gymnastics as a child and later weight training and running.  I noticed that when my body felt strong through movement and exercise, my mind felt strong and more positive too.

My first yoga experience was around 30 years ago in a local school hall, where I and a friend were about a third of the age of the rest of the class. It was during that initial class that I realised age didn’t matter, flexibility wasn’t an issue and what was important was noticing my own body and actually consciously breathing for what felt like the first time. What made me want to come back each week was the relaxation at the end which illustrated  how much tension we store in our bodies without noticing and how great it feels when we can release it or just acknowledge it’s there.

My aim through the classes I teach, either tailored to you on a 1:1, small group or class is to give you the space to become curious about your body and mind through mindful breathing, accessible movement and appropriate challenge so that your time on the mat can benefit your life off the mat.
